KURTI and PARALLEL PANT

You know…………………………..This dress will be one of my daughter's birthday dresses.I like its color combination very much.

This top is a kurti. It is in a usual sleeveless pattern. Printing done in the top is my own creation; screen printing already posted  with procedure.

In this top I stitch some red stones in the centre of the flower. Then I finished it with some golden beads around those stones. It adds more beauty for the dress.

This dress has open in the back. I attached one zip here. This is the first time I use zip in my project. But it came out very well and I was very satisfied with this.

This beautiful pant is a parallel pant.

Here I stitched the cloth stripe in the bottom which is the remaining fabric after stitching the top. A small appliqué work is done hre. It looks so beautiful.

Its closer shot is...........................

After wearing both of them it will be look like this...................

But I forgot one thing here. What……………………………………………………..Yes………………………………..I didn’t give lining for this pant. My daughter told me” mom, this dress is itching me  like mosquito”. This is a big mistake I have done here. So what………………I will stitch one more pant (innerwear) to wear along with this.

Paper Butterfly

In our native there are lot of farms where they cultivate foodgrains. So we can see lot of, varieties of butterflies. But in chennai farms are becoming huge buildings like apartments. So we could see little creatures like butterfies, dragon flies very rarely. In my house I have grow few rose plants and few crotons. But I couldn’t see any butterflies here.

Then, how can I show butterfly for my little cute.

MATERIALS:

Magazine paper
Glue
Scissors

PROCEDURE:
Take a square shaped paper. Then cut it diagonally.

Now we have 2 pieces as shown in the picture.

Next cut body part of the butterfly and cut two small stripes.

Take one of the triangle shaped pieces and fold it front side for half inches as shown in the picture.

Next fold in the back side. Similarly fold it front and back sides alternatively till the end.
Gather in its centre and glue it .Then let it to dry.
Do the same for the second piece also.

Then glue both of them and stick them as shown in the picture.

Now we have this one.

Then stick body part with it.

Next stick two stripes in front of the head also.

Now this butterfly is ready to fly in our garden

If we select multicolor paper then we will get colorful butterflies.Multicolor is more beautiful than the single color.

KARTHIGAI DEEPAM-FESTIVAL

Karthigai deepam festival, the festival of lamps, is one of the oldest festivals in Tamil Nadu.It is also the festival of lights which is continued from Diwali. In temples they arranged special prayers after lighting lamps. It is believed to bring happiness, fresh hope, prosperity and peace in every one’s life.

We (People in Tamil Nadu) follow Karthigai Deepam as an extension of Diwali. We are increasing the number of lamps day by day, after Diwali, till the Karthigai Deepam festival. Some people celebrate karthgai deepam festival in the last three days up to full moon day. It is a wonderful sight to see little lamps arranged on the extension, in front of the houses, in the courtyard where they are placed on Kolams, on windows etc. Especially it is a beautiful sight in the villages, where houses are lined.

Here we lights ahals in front of our home. In our apartment. We put a small kolam because of the lack of space in the courtyard.

We celebrate this festival by bursting crackers like Diwali.

Bead

This bead is so easy to make. I here used nylon thread instead of wire. Stiffness of wire will give irritatation and itching for kids. Nylon thread is so flexible and gives life for our chain. I made this simple bead for my baby’s one matching dress. She likes this very much. I used crystals and pearl like beads, not pearl.
Similarly instead of chain hook I used screw. This is easy for tightening it.

MATERIALS:
1.    Beads

2.    Needle
3.    Nylon thread

4.    Screw
5.    Crystals
PROCEDURE:
Thread the needle and make a knot at one end of the thread.

Then add pearl like beads through the needle. Here I add 15 beads.

Next add crystals and beads alternatively. Here I add 10 crystals.
Then do the same as in 2.
Atlast add screw and make a knot close to the screw.knot should be bigger than the hole of the screw.Cut excess thread.

after wearing that............................

Note:
We can add golden beads in between them to add more beauty.
